Financing and Billing Policies

Monthly Club Dues

Each swimmer must pay dues for each month that they swim or participate in a club activity, meet or event.  


If a swimmer swims at all in a given month (even if it is one day), they must pay FULL dues for that month.  


Additionally, a swimmer participating in any club activity, swim meet or event (even one), they must pay FULL dues for that month.


The club does not send out monthly statements. 


Dues are paid monthly.   Monthly dues are due by the 1st of the month.  If a swimmer foresees difficulty in paying their dues, they should contact the club prior to the 10th of the month, so something can be worked out. 


Dues can be dropped of in the payment drop box, which is located on the wall right inside the SLO Swim Club office door.

Late Fees

A dues payment is considered late if it is not paid by the 10th of the month.  


If your monthly dues are not received by the 10th of the month, you will be charged a $10.00 late fee.  


If after the 20th, dues are note received (or your balance is not paid), the swimmer will not be allowed to participate in any practice or club activities until the account is paid in full. 



Initiation Fee

All NEW swimmers will be required to pay a one-time club initiation fee.  


 If another family member has already joined the swim club, the initiation fee is waived.   



USA Swimming Registration Fee

 All age-group swimmers are REQUIRED to register with USA Swimming.  Annual registration with USA swimming is required to be part of the club.  


All swimmers must submit a USA Swimming Registration Form each year and pay the appropriate annual fee.  Annual Registration is from January thru December.  Once a member of USA swimming, you will receive all the rights and privileges of membership.  First time USA Swimming registrants must provide proof of date of birth (which may include a copy of your passport, birth certificate, or drivers license).  


 

US Masters Registration Fee

All Master's group swimmers are REQUIRED be registered with US Masters.  Annual Masters registration is done through Southern Pacific Masters Swimming.  


Unregistered swimmers are not allowed on the team.  


All members must be registered with San Luis Obispo Masters.  SMPS/USMS Registrations may be done online at www.spmasterswim.org.  The club code for San Luis Obispo Masters is SLOM. 


*Masters swimmers may register with USA Swimming if they wish, instead of USMS. 



Taking a Leave of Absence

If a swimmer plans to take a leave of absence from the club, he/she must notify the club before the 1st day of the month upon leaving.  


A swimmer participating in any club practice, activity, swim meet, or event must pay dues for that month. 

Returning Swimmers

A returning swimmer (a swimmer who was on the team before and left or took a break) must pay full dues when they return.  


Prorated Dues are NOT available for returning swimmers.



Meet Entry Fees / Travel Fees

All swimmers wishing to compete in a meet must pay their meet entry fees.  Meet entry fees vary per meet.  Meet entry fees must be paid at the time of entry.  


Some meets may require an additional travel  fee ((or meet fee) in addition to entry fees. These fees will be assessed dependent on the meet and must be paid prior to or right after the meet. 



Discounts

  • First Month Prorated Dues:  New swimmers who begin in the middle of any month will have their first month's dues prorated (please talk to a coach to find out your prorated dues if applicable).  **Only available for NEW Swimmers.


  • Yearly membership:  There is a 10% discount for swimmers who pay annual dues (dues paid in full for 12 months)


  • Family Discount:  For families with more than 2 swimmers, the two highest paying swimmers pay full dues, the next highest paying swimmer pays one-half of his/her dues, and all other family members are free


  • USA Swimming Discount:  Discounted USA Swimming Registration is available for athletes who are enrolled in the Federal School Lunch Program.  Submit a copy of your Federal School Lunch Program Authorization Letter from the School District along with your USA Swimming Registration Form.  Discounted USA Swimming Registration Fee = $7.00/year. 


How to Make A Payment

The club does not send out monthly statements. 


If a swimmer foresees difficulty in making any payment, they should contact the club immediately, so something can be worked out. 


Payments should be made payable to SLO Swim Club (SLOSC), unless otherwise noted.


Payments can be dropped of in the payment drop box, which is located on the wall right inside the SLO Swim Club office door.
